2026 | performing research
amphibians is a bodily poetry that inhabits the precarious beings suspended between the antinomic forces of fusion and division. The process is informed by research into frog embryology.
Beginning in an enclosed, aqueous space where two bodies exist as one, the work unfolds through a series of ruptures, that is, development. From the first severance, the two bodies drift through states of loss, misalignment, attachment, and withdrawal, echoing biological processes of cellular cleavage and metamorphosis. Through the images of permeable skin, exchanged fluids, severed cords, and unstable forms, this piece positions identity not as fixed but as continuously negotiated.
It is a groping toward ground within a world brought into being.

—Deep within the body lies a rotten fruit. Losing its form, the worms devour.
Corrode is an improvisational movement piece filmed, edited by Milo, tracing our conversation around the act of eating. By layering the physical and spiritual deterioration of the human body onto the decompositional process of a stone fruit, this work reframes food restriction as an inner organic process while it isolates you from the rest of humanity and our sterile environment.
2025 | performing research
Engulfment is a solo performance informed by research into binary star systems in the cosmos, where boundaries collapse through gravitational consumption and mutual absorption. This work centers on the psychological experience of engulfment—a feeling that what I once had is absorbed by something other than myself, and that everything I possess is something I have stolen. As the site of origin of this desire for fusion, the subject turns toward the mother–daughter relationship.
Moving through the images of reconnection to the umbilical cord, the expansion of a placenta-like mass, and the fetalizing body, this piece reflects a state of needing something while it simultaneously consumes yourself.

Seed Lab
2025 | curatorial project
Seed Lab is a creative laboratory designed for underrepresented individuals who hold seeds of ideas that have never been seen or fully realized. The project was organized, curated, and facilitated as a space for nurturing fragile beginnings—thoughts, gestures, and practices in their early or unformed states.
As it opens to the public, visitors witness the idea-sharing and participate in facilitated discussions moderated by Sumire. These sessions are designed to dissolve the fixed roles of “artist” and “audience,” enabling an open exchange of perspectives while still protecting the integrity and voice of each participating artist. Through this collective engagement, Seed Lab seeks to create conditions for being seen and being heard to function as an incubation space for the seeds of ideas.
